About CCPR Construction

Building And Protecting Outer Banks Homes Since 2012

CCPR Construction started in 2012 as Carolina Coastal Painting and Renovating Construction. We wanted to make painting and renovation work easier to arrange for homeowners and business owners on the Outer Banks, and that is still how we run the company.

These days a lot of our work happens outdoors. We build new decks and repair, resurface, or replace old ones from Corolla to Hatteras Island. We also install and replace siding, restore water damage inside and outside the house, and still take on interior and exterior painting.

Every promise we make to a customer comes first. We take pride in the small details, like a stair that feels right underfoot or trim that gets sealed before it ever sees rain, because those details decide how long the work lasts on the OBX.

Deck Building Services

Deck Building And Deck Repair In The Outer Banks

Salt air corrodes cheap hardware and nor’easters drive water into every joint, so a deck on the OBX has to be built differently from one inland. We build and repair decks for year-round homes and vacation rentals across the Outer Banks, and we plan each one around how you will use it.

wood deck

Custom Deck Building

We start with how you want to use the space. Maybe you want room to grill and eat outside with the whole family, or a second-story deck that catches the breeze off the ocean. We lay out the size, stairs, and railings to suit your house and lot, then build it to code with framing and hardware chosen for Outer Banks weather.

Wood Deck Builders

Pressure-treated pine is still the most common decking on the Outer Banks. It costs less up front than composite, and a damaged board is easy to replace or refinish. As wood deck builders in the OBX, we use ground-contact lumber for posts and framing, corrosion-resistant fasteners for the salt air, and proper board spacing so the deck drains and dries after a storm.

composite deck

Composite Deck Building

Composite decking never needs staining or sealing, and it won’t splinter under bare feet, which is a big deal at a beach house. We install composite and PVC deck boards with hidden fasteners and matching fascia for a clean finish. We’ll also help you choose a lighter color, since dark boards can get hot in full OBX sun.

deck resurfacing

Deck Resurfacing

If the frame underneath is solid but the boards are cupped, cracked, or splintering, you may not need a new deck. Resurfacing puts new decking and railings on your existing frame and usually costs far less than a full rebuild. Before any new boards go down, we check the joists, beams, and ledger connection so the new surface sits on a sound structure.

Deck Repair

Soft spots, loose railings, wobbly stairs, rotted joists, and boards that lifted in the last storm can all be fixed. On the Outer Banks the cause is usually trapped moisture or rusted hardware, so we track that down and repair it along with the damage it caused. If a repair isn’t worth the money, we’ll tell you before you spend it.

Deck replacement on an Outer Banks home

Deck Replacement

Some decks are past saving. The posts are rotted at the base, the ledger is pulling away from the house, or the railings don’t meet current code. We tear out the old deck, haul it away, and build a new one. It’s also a good time to change the size or layout, or to switch from wood to composite.

Deck stair and post lighting in the Outer Banks NC

Deck Lighting

Lighting makes deck stairs safer after dark and gives you more hours on the deck once the sun goes down. We install low-voltage stair lights, post cap lights, and under-rail lighting with fixtures rated for wet, salty conditions. It’s easiest to add during a new build or resurfacing, but most existing decks can be retrofitted.

Screened porch and restored deck in the Outer Banks

Porch Construction And Deck Restoration

A covered or screened porch gives you shade and a break from the bugs during an Outer Banks summer, and we build both. For wood decks that are sound but look worn out, our restoration work includes cleaning, sanding, replacing bad boards, and re-staining or sealing so the deck is ready for a few more seasons of sun and salt.

More Ways We Protect Your Home

Siding, Water Damage Restoration, And Painting In The OBX

Wind-driven rain and salt air wear on the whole house, and a deck job often turns up problems with the siding or trim right next to it. We handle those repairs too, so you can call one company for the full project.

Siding replacement on an Outer Banks home

Siding Installation And Replacement

Cracked, warped, or loose siding lets water into the wall behind it, and on the coast that damage spreads quickly. We install new siding and replace worn or storm-damaged siding on homes across the Outer Banks, including vinyl, fiber cement, and cedar shake. Before the new siding goes up, we check the sheathing and house wrap and repair any rot we find.

Interior water damage restoration in the Outer Banks NC

Water Damage Restoration

A roof leak, a burst pipe, or storm water under a door can leave soaked drywall, swollen subfloors, and mold behind. We remove the damaged materials, make sure the framing underneath is dry and sound, and rebuild the walls, floors, and trim. Call as soon as you find the damage, because the sooner the repair starts, the less has to be torn out.

Exterior rot and water damage repair on an Outer Banks home

Outdoor Water Damage Restoration

Outside, water damage on an Outer Banks home usually shows up as rotted trim and fascia, soft sill plates, decayed deck ledgers, and window and door frames that have soaked up rain for years. We find where the water is getting in, replace the rotted wood, and flash and seal the area so it stays dry. Fixing exterior rot early keeps a small repair from turning into a structural one.

Interior and exterior house painting in the Outer Banks NC

Interior/Exterior Painting

Painting is how we started in 2012, and it’s still a big part of our work. On exteriors we scrape, sand, prime, and caulk before any paint goes on, and we use coatings made to stand up to sun, salt, and humidity. Inside, we protect your floors and furniture and clean up at the end of every day.

Izzy and his team handled extensive rot repair and fixed a roof leak on my house, as well as replacing quite a bit of siding. Project management and communication were great, he did what he said they would do and I was very satisfied with the quality of work. I look forward to working with CCPR more as we proceed with replacing all siding on the house over the next few years.

We used CCPR for a recent commercial project and Isroil and his team did a fantastic job. We received quotes on time, he communicated well throughout the entire project, and was able to deliver an excellent finished project. If you are local and are keen to work with CCPR I would definitely give them a call and see what they can do for you.

CCPR Construction was highly recommended by multiple neighbors. We initially hired Isroil and his crew to do our exterior painting of our home. The experience was so positive, we hired him to do a complete renovation. The thought of doing a total renovation of every floor in our home long distance was overwhelming. With Isroil, there is no stress! His communication is superior, their workmanship is top quality, and attention to detail is just some of the items that make them exceptional. We don't need to be there to oversee the project, because the continuous photos and FaceTime calls make us feel like we're there with them. Having a contractor that is trust worthy, honest, reliable, communicative, and knows what customer service is all about is hard to come by. This has not been the case with other vendors that we've had work at our home. We couldn't think of doing this renovation without him as he makes you feel like family! His exceptional reviews by many satisfied clients should tell you what sets CCPR apart from other contractors. Don't hesitate, pick up the phone and schedule CCPR to quote your next job!

Izzy and his team are professional, talented and very skilled! He knows the wear and tear the houses get down here. I had my deck replaced which was literally secured by the flashing. He had it ripped out and done in 2 1/2 days. I have dealt with a lot of contractors down here am no one beats his times. He also did the shiplap. He is always onsite to do ensure the job is done right!!! Thank you Izzy.

I initially hired them to Just paint me house in Corolla, NC. They quickly accessed that there were issues that needed to be addressed prior to painting. Their ability to communicate no only what needed to be done but also why it needed to be done was extremely useful and comforting. We had a give and take discussing the different option after which they did an outstanding job of delivering a quality product at a reasonable price. I could not recommend them more highly!

Izzy, from the very beginning, was very upfront and direct about the repairs that my house needed, which were quite extensive. He provided a fair estimate for the work to be done. He and his crew were professional, skilled, and kept me informed every step of the way. My house sustained serious water damage over the years. Izzy showed me pictures of the affected areas and what we wanted to do to repair everything. He took the time to explain the repairs and suggestions to prevent this from happening in the future. His professionalism is second to none and I would recommend him to anyone needing repairs, painting, and decking. I’ve owned my house in OBX for over 10 years, Izzy and his crew are the very best that I’ve used over the years. Huge thank you to his company for making my house look brand new.

We recently completed a full home renovation with CCPR Construction Company and we couldn't be happier with the results. The entire process was smooth and stress-free thanks to the amazing design and renovation team. From the beginning, we were impressed with the professionalism and expertise of Isroil, our General Contractor. He walked us through the entire process, answered all of our questions, and made sure that everything was completed to our satisfaction. The actual renovation was completed on time and within budget, and the quality of the work was top-notch. Our home looks and feels like a brand new house, and we love the new layout and design. One of the things we appreciated most about our renovation team was their attention to detail. They took the time to ensure that everything was done right and to our specifications. They were also very clean and tidy, which made the process much more enjoyable for us. Overall, we highly recommend this renovation team for anyone considering a home renovation. They are reliable, professional, and produce high-quality work. We couldn't be happier with the results of our renovation, and happy that we chose CCPR Construction for this special project of ours.

FAQ

Deck Building Questions From Outer Banks Homeowners

How Long Does A Deck Last On The Outer Banks?

It depends on the material and the upkeep. A pressure-treated wood deck that’s cleaned and sealed regularly can last 15 years or more near the coast, and most composite decking carries a manufacturer warranty of 25 years or longer. With either one, the framing and fasteners underneath matter as much as the boards on top.

Do I Need A Permit To Build A Deck In The OBX?

In most cases, yes. New decks and most structural deck repairs need a building permit from your town or county, which is Dare County or Currituck County depending on where you live. Oceanfront and soundfront lots can also fall under CAMA rules. We’ll go over what your project needs during the estimate.

Should I Choose Wood Or Composite Decking?

Wood costs less to build and is easy to repair, but it needs regular cleaning and sealing to handle the sun and salt. Composite costs more up front and needs very little upkeep. Rental owners often go with composite so there’s less maintenance between guests. We can price both so you can compare.

Can You Repair My Deck Instead Of Replacing It?

Often, yes. If the posts, beams, and joists are sound, we can replace damaged boards, railings, or stairs, or resurface the whole deck. If the framing has widespread rot or the ledger isn’t attached safely, replacement is the safer choice, and we’ll show you why.

When Is The Best Time To Build A Deck On The Outer Banks?

Fall, winter, and early spring are usually the easiest times to schedule, because the work won’t run into rental season. If you want a new deck ready by Memorial Day, start the conversation with us in the fall or early winter.

Do You Also Repair Siding And Water Damage?

Yes. Along with deck building, we install and replace siding, restore indoor and outdoor water damage, and paint interiors and exteriors. Deck projects often uncover rotted rim joists or trim where the deck meets the house, and we can fix those as part of the same job.
